Competition Management for Jack & Jill Events
StepRank is built for Jack & Jill dance competitions. Organizers run multi-round events where scores aggregate in real time as judges submit, with flexible scoring modes and full control over when results go public — no spreadsheets, no paper ballots, no manual tallying.
Three Roles, One Platform
Organizer
Create competitions, configure rounds and scoring modes, approve judges, and control exactly when — and how much — of the results the audience can see.
Judge
Sign in with an access code and score participants live from any device. Lock your scores when done. No paper, no spreadsheets.
Participant & Viewer
Register for a competition or browse as a guest. See results the moment the organizer releases them, with as much or as little detail as they choose to share.
How It Works
Organizer Sets Up
Create a competition, add rounds, pick a scoring mode per round (score-based, elimination vote, ranking, or fixed couples), and invite your panel.
Judges Score Live
Judges sign in with an access code and submit scores in real time. Results sync the moment a judge locks their round.
Rankings Calculate Instantly
Weighted algorithms neutralize outlier scores across rounds, producing a fair, bias-resistant leaderboard automatically.
Organizer Controls the Release
Results stay hidden until you're ready. Release names only, names with scores, or a full breakdown. Your call.
Frequently Asked Questions
What scoring modes does StepRank support?
Four modes: Score-Based (judges grade participants on weighted criteria), Elimination Vote (Pass/No-Pass votes per participant), Ranking (judges order all finalists; Borda count resolves the final placements), and Fixed Couples (admin pairs leads and follows; judges score each pair as a unit). You pick the mode per round when setting up the competition.
Does StepRank handle both couples and individual formats?
Yes. Couples events pair leads and follows across multi-round brackets. Individual formats score each competitor on their own performance. Both run in the same platform.
When can spectators see results?
Results are never public until an organizer releases them. Visibility has three levels: names only, names with scores, or a full breakdown with per-round detail.
Does StepRank work offline?
Judge scoring requires an active connection to sync results in real time. A local-cache offline mode is on the roadmap.
